the box train

Ella and her cousins Lachie and Lily, all visiting Grandma and Poppa at their new town house.
Sitting in Grandma and Poppa's empty packing boxes was the theme for the day, and it didn't take much to get Poppa to push us around the lounge like a big train!!!

Playing Jack in the box

Ella does not appear to be afraid of small spaces, quite happy about hiding in this suitcase of Poppas and ducking down while I count to 3 before she pops out like a little jack in the box. Lily thought it looked like fun, so she joined in too.

petting Zoo

We went and spent an hour or so at the Petting Zoo this afternoon, Ella and Dad. Ella liked the hairy Cow and the ducks, along with being quite taken by the bunny rabbits, (they even got a stroke) still couldn't convince her to stroke the nose of the pony, but she did pet the sheep, and talked quite extensively to the kuny kuny pigs... (cute piglets, but not so cute parents)
didnt take the camera so these are stunt pig and stunt rabbit, standing in for the petting zoo chaps.

First Hair Cut

Ella behaved very well today for her first hair cut. She sat on my knee and watched proceedings very carefully in the big mirror. Not much off, just the ends. Sorry no pic, but I did save a few locks.

party

Mum and Dad receiving flowers and gifts at the party to acknowledge their input into Waitahora Valley, as they are in the process of moving into town and allowing Cole to take over the reigns of Brightside Farm. Not that it means they won’t still be seen out in the Valley, I am sure that Dad at least will frequent the farm on at least a daily basis… (except maybe when its raining?!)

toy of the week

my pop up book, no other book will do, and if Ella knows that it's at the bottom of the pile to be read before bed, there is nothing else for it but to read it first (2 or 3 times) before Ella will even consider reading the other books...
and you have to be able to read it pretty fast, as the pages get turned one after the other as quickly as possible to get to the back to see the beautiful butterflys!!!!!!!!

helping with the groceries

such a helpful wee girl, here she is helping mum with the groceries, although she did have to put them down to climb the stairs, and then get dad to pick them up again...

in the mud

We spent the afternoon at Whana-iti and went for a walk on the farm. check out the Chooks Mum!
Then Ella and Nat played row row row your boat, in this authentic row boat in the shed. while Finn was vigorously sawing something in half in the background...
Then Ella did a short circuit of the paddock with Guy on the motor bike, Hold on!

muddy bum

Finn thinks that riding his bike through this puddle is sooooooo much fun! (his mum thinks that the amount of washing has increased recently though, wonder why!)

Party

Ella had to scope out the whole place during the party at Grandma and Poppas new house. even inside the kitchen cupboards! (no we are not thinking of making Ella a new bunk bed there...)
We all had a good night sitting on the floor, eating fish and chips, and making plans for the new house.
Uncle Cole even taught Ella a few new tricks that will come in handy at partys (when she is 18 that is...) Just don't tell mum...

Dress Up

Playing Dress up with Kay before we went down to the rest home where Grandma works, to wave and smile at all the residents! Ella just loves big mirrors!
